like so many good things, it started in the kitchen
It was January 2012 that Geordan Saunders, owner of the The Napanee Beer Company, brewed his very first batch of beer. Huddled over his stove in a small Toronto condo, Geordan remembers looking up at his wife and saying "I'm going to do this for the rest of my life!" Within weeks of this first batch, Geordan was hooked.

Within a year, Geordan was participating in amateur brewing competitions across Canada, and earning medal after medal for his beers.
The idea of opening a brewery set in about this time, but both Geordan and his wife knew that if it was going to happen, it had to be back home -- in Napanee, Ontario. So just 8 months after brewing his very first batch of beer, Geordan and his wife packed a truck, waved goodbye to Toronto in the rear-view mirror, and started their new life back home.
Napanee Beer's humble start
Four years after Geordan's first batch of beer, construction began on The Napanee Beer Company. In March of that year, the first equipment arrived, and the brewery "soft" opened 6 weeks later, which the official opening day that July.
An incredible first year
In April 2017, The Napanee Beer Company celebrated winning a number of awards at the Ontario Brewing Awards, including multiple Gold Medals, and the coveted "New Brewery of the Year" award.
